I have a design background by I have basic experience into jewellery making mostly for family and mostly for fun, I usually take apart existing items and learn that way. I wanted to make something special for my sister and she picked an item that I had sold out and she really want it. The problem with the item was I was inordinately expensive and it wasn't even silver or gold. So I said I'd make it for her using silk sterling silver and real gemstones I spent about £150 (on beads and findings and I get a necklace, bracelet have items left over for other projects) and it still less expensive than the bracelet she wanted. My sister doesn't really like me as a person she's very mean actually, I don't really know why but she likes the things I make she also likes to use and wear the things I make it's beyond me. This is a bit of a monologue I know you must probably don't care, however the technique you have show me is something I've been investigating and looking to have knowledge on for an inordinate amount of time. I think I would have added a crimping bead to both ends of the string, so they couldn't slide out of their knots.
